'Ender's Game' First Trailer
I remember hating this book but maybe it's because I hated the person who recommended it to me. The movie does have Ms Hailee Steinfeld in it so that is a plus.

Ben Kingsley IS The Illustrated Man!
I tried to read it thru a long time ago, but didn't make it. I also hear the author is a serious dickhead. That wouldn't stop me from reading a good book but Ender's Game just didn't cut it.
I heard the same thing about Card the author and I didn't want anything to do with his kind of Ayn Rand thinking even back then.
I recently re-read it. I liked it as a mindless sci fi book. The second one is slow going, but ok. First one does have some cool concepts (war room, anti gravity, etc)
I think the book has to get you at the right time in your life. I missed all it's subtext at the age it was forced upon me. I always thought I read better garbage than Ender's Game'. Now watch me go and love the movie. It would be the very definition of ironic.
I'd heard this film adaptation had been in the works for some time, but I'm willing to bet that the financial success of "Hunger Games" let the execs know that they could bankroll on another "children in war games" type movie.
