Superman Unbound

This is the latest animated feature from DC Comics. It's a Superman and Braniac story with some cool Supergirl parts thrown in. In fact this is mostly a Supergirl story as she comes of age in a world where she suddenly has superpowers and is morning the loss of her family, city and planet.

For her, the destruction of her life happened months ago, not years like it is for Clark. He was a child when he came to Earth with no memory of Krypton. She remembers her destroyed homeworld. That is a really important distinction when you look at the destruction of Krypton and how Braniac stole the city of Kandor, placing it in a bottle. For her, her family and city still exists and the rescue of Kandor is at the heard of this tale.

Stana Katic as Lois Lane. It's nice that Lois knows that Clark is Superman. It just removes a stupid story impediment. She is also able to play big sister to Kara Zor-El (Supergirl- voiced by Molly Quinn of Castle fame).

"Must be terrible for you. The most powerful man on the Earth and he can't handle the women in his life."

John Noble (Fringe) is great as the voice of Braniac. He can do cold blooded arrogance like no one else and his voice is just interesting to listen to. He makes me frightened for Superman and his ability to win the day which makes the story interesting. This one is a nice warm-up for 'Man of Steel'.
