Gustav Klimt “Musique” (1895)

Debra She Who Seeks said...: You know, Klimt was kind of a husky guy, balding and with a beard. He liked cats too. Reminds me of someone, but I can't quite place who.

Erik Johnson Illustrator said...: I ask because its easy for me to list all sorts of comic book style influences on my work, but I enjoy a number of classical works as well, particularly the Pre-Raphelities as they were pioneers in draftsmanship that would eventually lead to the commercial illustration field.

I do like Klimt's use of gold colored baubles in his work, especially here against the dark blue to create this "shimmering midnight" feel.; June 15, 2013 at 10:31 AM
