We only get three episodes a season and those seasons are often years apart but there is few things better on TV today than Sherlock. I love it all, the whimsy, the visual style, the richly drawn characters.
Why does ANYONE steal gold? It's the most impractical thing to move in large quantities and takes forever to load up. But then of course you can melt it down to an untraceable form with a simple forge like the one found in every Industrial Arts studio. Maybe that is the point. It just takes forever to get rid of. Easy to get caught before you get your money.
"You a bloody psychopath!"
"High functioning sociopath and I have your number."
Holmes interacting with a precocious child is pure comedy cold. They bond over murder photographs on the Internet.
"Oh Sherlock, neither of us were the first." - Mary teasing Sherlock upon meeting John's old Army Major.
Mycroft on his treadmill. More comedy gold. I have really been loving how Mycroft and Holmes have found much to love and admire about each other while busting each other's balls like a much smarter version of Niles and Frasier Crane.
Oh that Best Man speech from Sherlock. So brilliantly uncomfortable but very heartfelt as well.
Next week that is it for Sherlock. It's all over for another three years or longer before both Freeman and Cumberbatch can get their schedules to line up.

Aside of the ridiculous gold stealing, I'd say this has been the best episode of Series 3 (His Last Vow is good but not as fun) This one balances two mysteries, humor and character development. Its also an ideal episode to rewatch.
It was a lot of fun. Mrs Hudson was great and I really like that interaction Holmes had with that kid. Could be a whole spin-off cartoon. Sherlock and Son.
I did think the "stag night" went on a bit too long, but when Sherlock made his best man speech I have to confess I did get something in my eye...
