I just bashed Sarah Michelle Geller's comedic chops (she has none) but in all fairness the episode of the 'Crazy Ones' where she adopts a cat - Mr Princess - was one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. It's the only episode of the show that I watch because I find Robin Williams to be over the top but this one I caught JUST to see who this Mr Princess was. I was not disappointed.
When the cat is funnier and has better timing than your lead actress you might have some problems. I also read that Geller is deathly allergic to cats to goodbye Mr Princess. Why couldn't they have used a Sphinx cat in the first place - non allergenic and much greater cat comedy potential.
