Memories Of The Way Things Used To Be

On Nov. 29, 1972, Atari announced Pong, the arcade console that launched the video-game revolution! Did you play Pong back in the day?

I was there right at the beginning. We were staying in a hotel in Salzburg and in the lobby there was this PONG game and it was surrounded by guys in suits who acted like it was the greatest thing they had ever seen. They had no idea what would be the state of video games 45 years later.

The only video game I've ever played was Ms Pacman, once, around 1980 maybe, at the student union bar at the University of Manitoba.

You must have had a rich full life back then to avoid the arcade.

Shit yeah, I wasn't even hanging around gay bars and pool halls yet.

Nothing like a good sleezy arcade or pool hall.
