More Joe Jusko Corner Boxes

This is how it's done. Go over to the Dork Review for an even larger selection. No one does the theme posts like Rob or the corner boxes by Joe.

Top notch! What an extraordinary talent Joe is!

You can see it right. I mean I see hundreds of images a day of superhero art and nothing comes close. THIS is how you master your craft. Take a lesson, Liefeld.

Some lovely work here! My fave is probably the Black Panther but I was pleased to see Jusko using the 1970s Star Lord in the Guardians painting.

Just to play Devil's Advocate here: in Rob Liefeld's defence ( and I never thought I'd say that ) there's surely a world of difference between spending hours on one character painting like Jusko's work above and churning out 20+ pages of comic art per issue. Jusko, while obviously super-talented, has never been a full-time comic-strip artist...

Agreed. But if Liefeld couldn't HANDLE full pages and produce them on time and with at least SOME feet or backgrounds then he shouldn't been given the job in the first place. He's a hack. Joe is a cover guy but he made himself one of the best cover guys around. That is the difference. These two are about as far from each other on the artistic scale as two artists can be.

I can't argue with that... :-)
